How echo99 handles information for the website and local macOS app.
Wirenode s.r.o. ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use echo99 (the "Service"). The current echo99 app is designed to process recordings and transcripts locally on your Mac.
1. Information We Collect
The current echo99 macOS app does not require an account and does not automatically upload your call audio, transcripts, speaker labels, or notes to us. The app stores generated files locally on your Mac, including in ~/Documents/echo99.
We may collect limited information in these situations:
- Website technical data: basic server logs may be processed by our hosting provider, such as IP address, browser user agent, requested page, and request time.
- Website analytics: we use Google Analytics to track usage of the website, such as page views, approximate location, device and browser information, referral sources, and interactions with pages.
- App update checks: at launch, the app asks our server for the latest version. The request carries a randomly generated install identifier stored on your Mac (no account, no personal data, not derived from your device). We count these checks in Google Analytics to measure active installs and launches.
- Support communications: if you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include.
- Download and security data: our hosting or distribution providers may process technical information necessary to deliver downloads and protect the website.
2. How We Use Information
We use information we collect to:
- Provide the website and app downloads.
- Understand and measure website usage through Google Analytics.
- Measure app launches and active installs through anonymous update-check counts.
- Respond to support requests and user inquiries.
- Maintain security, troubleshoot issues, and prevent abuse.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations where applicable.
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your call audio, recordings, transcripts, or summaries to train large language models.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process personal data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: to provide the website, downloads, app, and support you request.
- Legitimate interest: to secure, maintain, and improve the website and respond to abuse or technical issues.
- Consent: where we ask for optional permission, such as Google Analytics cookies on the website (requested via the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time) or optional communications.
- Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.
4. Local App Data
echo99 records and processes call audio locally on your Mac. Your recordings, transcripts, and related files are controlled by you. You can keep, move, back up, or delete them from your device. Because we do not receive these local files in the current version, we cannot restore them if they are deleted, lost, or corrupted.
You are responsible for securing your Mac, user account, backups, and any folders where echo99 files are stored.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Local recordings and transcripts remain on your Mac until you delete them. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to respond, maintain records, resolve disputes, or meet legal obligations. Website logs are retained according to the practices of our hosting provider and security needs.
6. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your local meeting content because the current app does not upload it to us. We may share limited personal data with service providers that help operate the website, analytics, email, downloads, security, and support. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.
7. Service Providers and Transfers
Our website, analytics, email, support, and download infrastructure may be provided by third-party service providers, including Google Analytics for website usage measurement. If personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards where required, such as contractual protections and data processing terms.
The current local Mac app does not use meeting bots or cloud meeting-recording infrastructure.
8. Your Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction with similar laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing of, or request portability of personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@echo99.app.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For users in the Czech Republic, this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (UOOU) at www.uoou.cz.
9. Automated Processing
echo99 may use local automated processing to transcribe recordings, label speakers, and generate notes. These outputs are informational tools. We do not make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without appropriate consent, contact us at support@echo99.app.
11. Cookies and Tracking
We use Google Analytics to track usage of the website and understand how visitors use pages. Google Analytics may set or read cookies and similar identifiers, and Google may process analytics information according to its own policies. We do not use advertising cookies.
By default, before you allow cookies, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode (Google Consent Mode): it stores no cookies or identifiers on your device and collects only anonymous, aggregated measurement of website usage. Allowing cookies via the banner enables full, cookie-based analytics; you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing the choice in the banner or your browser storage.
12. Third-Party Calling Services
echo99 may record audio from calls that happen in third-party apps or services such as Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, browsers, or other conferencing tools. echo99 does not join calls as a bot and does not control those third-party services. Their own privacy policies and terms apply to your use of them.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
14. Data Controller and Contact
The data controller responsible for personal data we process is:
